Job description
1st Shift Paper Systems OperatorAmerican Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 400+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 1st Shift Paper Systems Operator role in our Schofield, WI facility.The Paper Systems Operator is responsible for assuring product quality and to satisfy all product specifications, while following all safety guidelines.Essential ResponsibilitiesStart up and shut down all process systems as required.Monitor paper product production system and adjust operator controls for optimal production throughout shift.Perform throughput tests as required by quality standards and procedures.Complete all required in process quality tests (volumetric test, B.D., moisture, and PPH etc.) and input all data by the end of the shift.Understand and apply any and all shipping requirementsClean entire production area as required by the cleaning schedulePerforms regularly scheduled blow down and cleaning of the systems buildings and labs as assigned and perform other clean-up duties as assigned by the supervisor.Must complete forklift training and abide by all safety practices.Must monitor system and monitor feeder boxes refilling when necessary.Must track and report accurate production and inventory numbers to Supervisor.Reports all maintenance issues and leaks in a timely manner and enters work orders in the CMMS as needed.Complete system changeovers using operating condition sheets and set-up sheets in accordance to the production schedule.Perform operator maintenance, adjust equipment as required, and assist maintenance technicians with repairs as needed.Keep Operating Condition Sheets up-to-date with accurate information on their shift's runtime, issues, and downtime.Completes shift reports, or portions thereof as directed by the supervisor, as needed.Performs other duties as assigned by the shift supervisor.Inspects process, performs cleaning, repair as required to maintain optimum performance & product quality.Attend all shift changeover meetings, safety meetings & training sessions as scheduled and required.Follow system set up to ensure proper quality. Recommend new ideas to improve performance, yields and throughputs.SafetyFollows all required safety programs and procedures including but not limited to; Fire Safety, Electrical Safety, LOTO, Respirator, and PPE.Wears proper PPE at all times.Monitor fire prevention systems to ensure they are functioning properly at all times!
