OVERVIEW OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
The South San Francisco Unified School District (SSFUSD) community includes 15 schools supporting 8,000 students in Daly City, San Bruno, and South San Francisco.

Paraprofessional I - Bilingual
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Principal, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment in English and a designated second language; serve as an interpreter for a variety of meetings, workshops, conferences and special events for personnel, parents and students; tutor individual or small groups of student; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation lesson plans; proctor and administer various tests and assessments; provide a variety of routine clerical support.
Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or equivalent GED and some experience working with children in a learning or organized setting. Incumbents must meet requirements specified under every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). In addition, must meet on of the following:
Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 units);
Obtained an associate’s or higher degree (college level); OR
Met (pass) a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics.
