Job description
This is administrative work involving the enforcement of parking restrictions in public parking lots and other areas of the City. Enforces parking regulations; special assignments including transportation of items during duty hours. Agent wears uniform prescribed by the Chief and furnished by the City.
One (1) position is available
Hours: Part-time, 8 hours per week, Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Patrols assigned areas of the City to enforce parking regulations.
Issues tickets for applicable violations of City parking regulations.
Marks tires of vehicles parked in unmetered timed parking zones, records the time and returns at specified intervals to ticket vehicles remaining in spaces illegally.
Performs routine maintenance on City vehicles and equipment.
Directs traffic as required for special events.
Graduation from high school or equivalent training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability, and skills:
Knowledge of:
City of Waukesha street layout and applicable police department policies and procedures.
City parking ordinances.
Basic vehicle maintenance.
Business English (grammar, punctuation, spelling, format and tone).
The use of computers and standard office equipment.
Operational hazards and means of taking precautionary measures to avoid.
Skill in: Public Relations.
Operating a motor vehicle.
Necessary special requirements.
Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
Ability to pass a criminal and financial background check; must be bondable

While performing duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand, talk and hear, smell, use hands and fingers to handle,, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands/arms.
The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds.
