Veterans Parks/Landscape Maintenance AideThe City of Pittsburg seeks several Veterans for Parks/Landscape Maintenance Aide vacancies for seasonal work. This recruitment is open until filled.The City of Pittsburg is seeking Veterans to join our Public Works' Parks and Landscape Division as a Maintenance Aide. The Veterans will receive job training to address illegal dumpling and littering at designated sites. As a Maintenance Aide, you will assist with a variety of park and landscape maintenance tasks under the guidance of a supervisor or lead staff member. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in enhancing public spaces, and are eager to contribute to the beauty and upkeep of our City parks and landscapes.Key Responsibilities:General building and park cleaning including, restrooms, emptying trash containers and general cleaning work around parks and facilitiesLitter abatement; assist with ordinance violated related to dumping and litterMay assist with general landscape maintenance and park upkeepMay operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, weed trimmers, blowers, and chippersFollow safety procedures and City guidelinesSupport the team in maintaining clean and welcoming outdoor spacesIdeal Candidates will have:A positive attitude and strong work ethicThe ability to work effectively as part of a teamAttention to detail and commitment to completing tasks in a timely mannerFlexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, or overtimeComfort working outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periodsA valid driver's license and an acceptable driving recordGreat interpersonal skills and the ability to interact respectfully with the public and team membersBasic mechanical aptitude: previous landscaping or maintenance experience is desirable but not requiredJoin us in making a difference in the community—apply today to be part of a team that keeps Pittsburg's parks and public spaces beautiful, safe, and inviting!Hourly Pay: $20.81 Term: Up to 6 months per cycle
