Job description

Parks Facility Maintenance Division DirectorThis position directs and oversees the daily operations of the Parks Facility Maintenance Division, including all maintenance, repair, and construction activities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinates the purchase and delivery of supplies for the Park Facility Maintenance Division; monitors existing inventory.Directs and oversees the maintenance, repair, and construction activities of the department.Review work performed by park facility maintenance technician employees with regard to current projects; provides advice and assistance as requested or required.Handles/schedules all work orders for future projects.Inspects facilities; prepares status reports.Tracks and reports time and material expenses for each project.Maintains daily work logs for employees, vehicle maintenance reports, itinerary forms, and employee payroll.Generates reports detailing progress on current projects and outlining future projects.May require 24-hour on-call duty.Assists in developing and administering annual budgets.Hires, trains, assigns, directs, supervises, and evaluates personnel.Responsible for tracking inventory of supplies.Monitors contractor activities.Attends departmental meetings.Assists in the development of department policies.Able to report regularly for work and be on time.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsHigh School Education/GEDEssential Emergency Personnel1 year+ experience in building and/or grounds maintenancePreferred knowledge of park operations and/or maintenance procedures.Preferred knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance proceduresExperience working with hand and power toolsMust be able to operate assigned maintenance equipmentKnowledge of basic computer skillsExcellent skills in oral and written communicationAbility to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculationsPossession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Texas for the operation of vehiclesSoft SkillsJudgment/Decision MakingCommunication – OralOrganization/PlanningBusiness LiteracyCustomer FocusCollaboration/TeamworkStrategic SkillsCoaching/TrainingPerformance ManagementPhysical Demands/Work EnvironmentThe work is typically performed outdoors and in facilities intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders and uses tools and equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.The work is typically performed outdoors and occasionally in the office. The employee is exposed to dust, noise, grease, machinery and chemicals. The work required the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.Emergency Preparedness Tier Level: 1Special Certifications and Licenses: None.
