Job description
Accounting AssistantThe Accounting Assistant provides administrative and accounting support to the Finance Department, assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, reconciliations, data entry, and daily financial transactions. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records and documentation, supporting financial reporting, collaborating with department leaders, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality.Responsibilities include maintaining knowledge of and complying with all Shaner and Hilton policies and procedures, verifying accuracy of the invoices and taxation, reviewing the accounts payable aging, reconciling vendor statements monthly, running all months end and accounts payable reports, verifying deposits and charges credit cards for upcoming groups, assisting guests with any billing related inquiries and documentation, preparing and maintaining accounting documents and records, preparing bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements, reconciling accounts in a timely manner, and researching, tracking, and restoring accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.Qualifications include a high school graduate, some college, preferably accounting based, ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding, problem analysis and problem-solving skills, proficiency in relevant computer software, ability to compute mathematical calculations, knowledge of the property management system, and knowledge of all accounting principles and procedures.Shaner Hotels has an exciting opportunity at our 208-room, full-service Hilton Aventura Hotel!
