Part Time - Athletic Facility SupervisorThis is a part-time position with a recruitment rate of $15.50 hourly. The work location is the Clayton Community Center in Clayton, NC (Johnston County). As a continuous job post, applications will be processed as they are received.The Town of Clayton is seeking applicants for a Part Time - Athletic Facility Supervisor for the Parks & Recreation Athletics Department. The Town of Clayton employs more than 340 full-time staff in areas including police, fire, and electric utilities. The purpose of this position is to perform routine work such as locking and unlocking facilities for athletic practices and games; acting as first point of contact for general public while at the facility, and scorekeeping for youth and adult sports leagues and tournaments.Opens and closes assigned parks and facilitiesSupervises Athletic Aide I's while at assigned facilities as supervisorActs as the first point of contact for the general public while at Town parks and facilitiesHandles difficult situations involving players, coaches and spectators during assigned shiftEnsures scheduled games and practices begin and end on timeAdministers first aid supplies as neededCommunicates issues and problems to full-time Athletic Supervisors, and emergency personnelEnsures gyms and playing fields have been properly set up for games and practicesFills out daily score report forms, accident/incident report forms, and ensures the accuracy of reports filled out by other athletic aidesEnforces Town of Clayton/Town of Clayton Parks and Recreation policiesProvides routine information on departmental policies, procedures, and servicesPerforms other job-related tasks as requiredSpecial Requirements, Education & ExperienceThe individual in this position should possess a basic working knowledge of major sports such as baseball, volleyball, softball, and basketball and some knowledge of other sports; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town employees and the public; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.Minimum education and experience requirements:Some experience in community or group recreation activities in athletics as an administrator, coach, or scorekeeper.Experience dealing with the public.Must be at least 18 years of age.Necessary special qualifications/requirements:CPR and First Aid Certified Preferred.Experience setting up gyms and fields for league play preferred.Experience keeping score for youth and adult sports leagues, keeping a scorebook, and running a scoreboard preferred.Depending on the position, the Town may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
