Buildings And Grounds GroundspersonMercer County Special Services School DistrictJob DescriptionBuildings And Grounds Groundsperson, Hourly as neededQualifications:Valid New Jersey driver's licenseExperience in school, commercial, or estate groundsWorking knowledge and skill in operating and maintaining various grounds equipment.Required criminal history check and proof of US citizenship or legal alienReporting ResponsibilityThe Groundsperson reports directly to the Manager of Buildings and Grounds.Terms of EmploymentHourly as needed.EvaluationThe Groundsperson shall be evaluated by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds, in writing, at least once each year. The evaluation shall be based in part on the performance of the responsibilities indicated in this position description. See Policy 4220.Performance Responsibilities:Operates tractors, rotary and zero turn grass cutting equipment and other grounds maintenance tools required for grounds or landscape maintenanceMows lawn areas, edges sidewalks, trims and prunes tree and shrubsLines athletic fieldsPerforms other tasks as necessary and/or requested to ensure the safety of students, staff and members of the public using the district's grounds and facilities.Keeps assigned district vehicle clean and in good, safe operatingParticipate in meetings, workshops and trainings as directed by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds andPrepares written materials for logs andPerforms other duties and responsibilities incidental to the position or as assigned by an appropriateAmericans With Disabilities Act StatementExternal and internal applicants, as well as employees who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions listed on this job description either unaided or with reasonable accommodations.
