Job description

Description

The University of Texas School of Law seeks to hire a part-time clinical professor to teach in its Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic (ECDC). The successful candidate may choose either a half-time or three-quarter-time appointment and will work alongside the clinic's existing faculty, Professor Frances Leos Martinez, Clinic Director, and Professor Heather Way.

The clinical professor will supervise students in their representation of clients and will meet regularly with students to mentor and advise them. The clinical professor will be responsible for ensuring that the clinic's clients receive competent and professional representation. The professor will also collaborate with the clinic faculty in all aspects of the clinic's work, including teaching portions of the clinic's weekly seminar, selecting cases and projects, and participating in activities of the broader clinical program.

Clinical faculty positions at Texas Law are nine-month appointments. This position is a part-time, non-tenure-track clinical faculty appointment, with all accompanying health and other benefits. Depending on the needs of the clinic's operations, cases and projects, an additional part-time summer appointment may be available. The clinical professor will join a close community of over 25 faculty members who teach in Texas Law's clinical program.

The salary range for this half-time position is $75,000 - $86,000 for nine months, depending on experience. The salary for a three-quarter-time appointment will be adjusted proportionally. Any summer appointment would be compensated separately on a pro rata basis.

The ECDC has a dual mission: educating law students and serving low-income communities through the practice of transactional law.
