Job description
Part-Time CustodianThe Part-Time Custodian position is responsible for performing a variety of routine functions to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained campus environment. This position can work up to 20 hours per week. (Must be 18 or older to apply.)Job DutiesMust be able to perform the following essential functions:Perform custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, doors, glass partitions, and other surfaces.Collect daily waste collection, including emptying and disposing of contents from trash containers and outdoor spaces.Disinfecting and sanitizing facilities.Restoring and maintaining floor finishes through stripping, waxing and refinishing processes.Monitoring and replenishing supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and classrooms on a daily basis.Operate power equipment, including blowers and vacuums, and motorized vehicles in a safe and effective manner.Assist with the receipt, unloading, and delivery of supplies and equipment to designated locations.Assist with the setup and arrangement of tables, chairs, and facilities for meetings, special events, and other college functions.Serve in implementing the strategic plan to assure appropriate consideration of fiscal and related matters to adhere to the college's mission, vision and value.QualificationsMust possess current NC Driver's LicenseMust pass pre-employment drug screeningKnowledge and SkillsREQUIRES:General knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies, and equipmentMust be able to understand oral and written directions and instructionsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to plan and set prioritiesAttention to detailAbility to work flexible hours and assume new assignmentsExcellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and time management skillsBenefitsThis position is not eligible for benefits.
