Social Media Content Creator - part time or freelance

You know what makes great content. You know how to make people stop scrolling. And you actually enjoy doing it.

Terrapin Ridge Farms is looking for a Social Media Content Creator to bring our brand to life across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube.

This is a hands-on creative role for someone who loves storytelling, food, video, and social media — and who can take an idea from “What if we tried this?” all the way to a finished, publish-ready post.

You’ll Be Responsible For

Creating 3–5 great pieces of content every week — from concept to final edit.

Finding creative ways to tell the Terrapin Ridge Farms story using video, photography, b-roll, and the people around you.

Writing scripts, developing concepts, filming, editing, and creating platform-specific captions.

Getting on camera yourself and being comfortable directing others on camera.

Spotting content opportunities in the moment — whether that's a product shoot, company event, trade show, or an impromptu “appy” hour.

Turning one great idea into multiple pieces of content to get more mileage out of the work.

Creating content that feels native to social, not like an ad disguised as a TikTok.

Collaborating with the marketing team on ideas, campaigns, launches, partnerships, and the social calendar.

Staying ahead of social trends and platform changes — while knowing which trends are actually worth chasing.

Engaging with our community through comments and DMs.

Tracking performance and using what you learn to make the next piece of content better.

Supporting broader marketing initiatives with creative content.

Some travel may be involved.

You’re a Great Fit If…

You have 3+ years of relevant content/social experience and a portfolio you're proud of.

You have a strong eye for visual storytelling and a distinct creative point of view.

You genuinely love creating content — not just managing social media.

You understand what makes content work across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube.

You know how to grow organic impressions and engagement , not just maintain an account.

You're comfortable behind the camera and in front of it.

You can direct someone who isn't a professional on-camera personality and make them look natural.

You're organized, self-motivated, and comfortable owning projects from start to finish.

You like figuring things out without waiting for someone to hand you the answer.

You take feedback well and aren't precious about your first idea.

You’re interested in marketing and strategy , not just making things look good.

You understand that great content starts with understanding the brand.

Bonus Points

You love food and food content.

You have experience with food, CPG, lifestyle, or consumer brands.

You have a personal social presence or portfolio that shows range.

You have a good sense of humor. Seriously.

One Important Thing

This isn't a strategy-only role.

Leadership owns the overall marketing strategy. You'll collaborate on the strategy, ideas, and calendar — but you'll own the creative execution.

Think: concept → script → camera → direction → edit → publish → analyze → do it again.
