Job description

If you’re an Optometrist looking for a part-time opportunity where you can build meaningful patient connections and practice high-quality eye care in a welcoming community, St. Clair Eye in St. Clair, Michigan, may be a great fit. This well-established private practice serves patients of all ages, offering a patient-first environment supported by advanced technology, preventative care, and a team committed to helping people protect and improve their vision with confidence.

Why join us?

St. Clair Eye in St. Clair, Michigan, has proudly served the community for more than 26 years. With a dedicated team of ten employees, the practice provides comprehensive and preventative eye care, including dry eye treatment, foreign body removal, and ocular disease management, while offering personalized care supported by advanced technology. The team is passionate about building lasting relationships with patients and delivering attentive care in a welcoming, small-community setting.

What you’ll do:

As an Optometrist with St. Clair Eye, you’ll focus on delivering thoughtful, personalized care that helps patients feel informed and supported throughout their visit. You’ll provide comprehensive eye examinations, routine vision care, diagnosis and management of ocular conditions, personalized treatment plans, and prescriptions for eyeglasses or contact lenses as appropriate. You’ll also educate patients on their eye health and preventative care while working closely with opticians and administrative staff to create a smooth, patient-centered experience. This part-time role is approximately 15–20 hours per week, with doctors seeing an average of 25 patients on a full day and 15 patients on a half day. You’ll have access to advanced technology, including a phoropter, autorefractor, lensometer, Optos, OptoMap, slit lamp, tonometer, and OptiLight, to support the care you provide.

Who you are:

You’re a licensed Optometrist in Michigan who brings strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and a compassionate approach to patient care. You value accuracy, professionalism, and dependable follow-through, and you’re comfortable working in a private-practice setting where teamwork and personalized service matter. You enjoy connecting with patients of all ages, collaborating with opticians, technicians, and administrative team members, and contributing to a positive experience that supports long-term eye health. A Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program, a current Michigan optometry license in good standing, and a commitment to continuous learning will help you succeed in this role.

Why you’ll love St. Clair:

Outside of work, St. Clair offers an inviting place to enjoy a relaxed riverfront lifestyle. Located along the beautiful St. Clair River, the community features local shops, restaurants, cafés, pubs, boutiques, parks, a welcoming downtown, a boat harbor, a historical museum, a library, and seven parks, including Palmer Park and its freshwater boardwalk. If you enjoy scenic views, outdoor recreation, community events, and the friendly feel of small-town Michigan living, St. Clair offers a comfortable place to live, work, and feel connected.
