nJob Description
nPURPOSE AND SCOPE:
nThis position will mentor and advise students about higher education, including the financial aid, completing FAFSA application, and Apply Texas application. Mentor will also provide financial aid options and assist students with finding and utilizing appropriate resources. Required to provide high level information. May interact one-on-one with students. May interact with a high volume of customers. Will work with and assist diverse groups.

nnProvide handouts and/or forms to customers

nnMaintain knowledge of multiple programs

nnProvide limited technology support to end users

nThe work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
nWORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
nnnEquipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment

nnInterface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
n
nnWork is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

n nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
nnnHigh School diploma or GED

nnMust be a currently enrolled Lone Star student pursuing a course of study

n nSalary
nHourly Pay Rate is $16.22
