Job description

Fitness for Health is seeking passionate, energetic Occupational Therapists (OTRs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to join our growing team! We are an innovative outpatient practice specializing in neurological, developmental, sensory, orthopedic, and visual rehabilitation through individualized, movement-based therapy. We are primarily interested in candidates with floating weekend availability, but additional weekday hours may be available as well.

nOur therapists work one-on-one with children and adolescents presenting with a wide variety of diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental coordination disorder, cerebral palsy, genetic syndromes, concussion, orthopedic conditions, executive functioning challenges, retained reflexes, visual processing deficits, and sensory processing differences.

nIf you enjoy combining neuroscience, movement, play, and creativity to help children reach their fullest potential, we'd love to meet you.

nWhat You'll Do

nProvide individualized occupational therapy interventions to pediatric clients.

nEvaluate and treat children with neurological, developmental, orthopedic, sensory, visual-motor, and executive functioning challenges.

nAddress underlying motor, sensory, cognitive, and visual skills that support meaningful participation in school, home, play, and community activities.

nCollaborate closely with families and an interdisciplinary team to maximize outcomes.

nDevelop individualized home programs and caregiver education.

nComplete documentation in a timely manner.

nOur Treatment Philosophy

nAt Fitness for Health, we believe meaningful change occurs by addressing the root causes of functional challenges—not simply compensating for them. Our therapists utilize a neurodevelopmental and evidence-based approach to improve:

nMotor planning and coordination

nBalance and postural control

nPrimitive reflex integration

nSensory processing and self-regulation

nExecutive functioning

nVisual processing and visual-motor integration

nStrength, endurance, and body awareness

nFine motor and handwriting skills

nFunctional independence in daily occupations

nTreatment sessions are active, engaging, and individualized, incorporating movement, play, therapeutic exercise, and technology to maximize neuroplasticity and motor learning.

nOur Clinic

nFitness for Health offers therapists access to a unique treatment environment, including:

nLarge therapeutic gym

nInteractive rehabilitation technology and exergaming systems

nBalance and vestibular equipment

nFunctional strengthening equipment

nVisual-motor training tools

nSensory integration equipment

nPrivate treatment rooms for fine motor and handwriting intervention

nWe encourage therapists to think creatively and utilize movement-based interventions that keep children motivated while targeting meaningful functional outcomes.

nQualifications

nOccupational Therapist (OTR/L)

nCurrent Maryland Occupational Therapy License (or eligibility)

nNBCOT Certification

nPediatric experience preferred (new graduates with strong pediatric fieldwork are welcome to apply)

nSchedule

nPRN and Part-Time positions available

nWeekend availability (Saturday and/or Sunday) required

nAdditional weekday hours available based on clinic needs

nWhat We're Looking For

nOur ideal candidate is:

nPassionate about pediatric neurorehabilitation

nInterested in treating the whole child rather than isolated symptoms

nCreative, energetic, and movement-oriented

nExcited to learn and collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary team

nComfortable working with children across a wide range of developmental and neurological diagnoses

nCommitted to providing exceptional family-centered care

nWhy Join Fitness for Health?

nOne-on-one treatment sessions

nCollaborative and supportive interdisciplinary team

nMentorship and opportunities for professional growth

nInnovative treatment technology and therapeutic gym

nFlexible scheduling

nDiverse caseload with opportunities to develop expertise in pediatric neurology and developmental rehabilitation

nPositive clinic culture focused on clinical excellence and individualized care
