Northside Catholic Academy Cleaning PositionThe Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic schools serve more than 40,000 students in 154 elementary and high schools in Cook and Lake counties. It is one of the largest private school systems in the United States. Its schools have received 96 Blue Ribbon awards from the U.S. Department of Education over the past 10 years.Northside Catholic Academy is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented professional to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas after the school day has ended.Essential ResponsibilitiesClean and sanitize classrooms, including:Empty trash and replace linersSweep, vacuum, and mop floors as neededWipe and disinfect desks, tables, counters, and high-touch surfacesClean whiteboards, sinks, and classroom fixturesClean and disinfect student and staff restrooms.Vacuum carpets and clean hard-surface floors throughout the building.Clean hallways, stairwells, entryways, offices, faculty lounges, and other common spaces.Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.Lock windows, turn off lights, and help secure the building at the end of each shift, following school procedures.Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to the administration.Use cleaning products and equipment safely according to manufacturer instructions.Assist with occasional special cleaning projects during school breaks or before special events, as requested.Maintain a professional, respectful, and positive attitude while working in the school community.QualificationsPrevious custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.Able to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.Must be authorized to work in the United States.Must successfully complete a background check and comply with all school safe-environment requirements.Desired QualitiesStrong attention to detail.Pride in maintaining a clean and organized environment.Dependable attendance and consistent work ethic.Respect for the mission and values of a Catholic school.CompensationHourly positionApproximately 20–25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.Flexible hours between 3:30 -10:00 pm.Opportunities for additional hours during summer cleaning or school events may be available.The Archdiocese of Chicago offers a comprehensive total rewards package to include competitive compensation and benefit programs.
