Part Time (Substitute) CustodianProvide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.Must be able to follow written and verbal instructionsMust be dependable and punctualMust be able to maintain good relationship with students, faculty, and the publicUses buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, electric drill, shampooer, lawn mower, edger, and weed eaterKeeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times working under a schedule outlined by the principal.Regulates heat, ventilation, and air conditioning system to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to insure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.Checks daily to insure that all exit doors and all panic bolts are working properly during hours of building occupancy.Sweeps classrooms and dusts furniture daily and waxes as directed by the principal.Cleans corridors after school each day, and during the day when their conditions require it.Scrub and disinfects toilet floors daily, and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.Keeps the grounds free of paper and rubbish. Cleans areas dirtied due to accident or illness, and waters grounds when necessary.Make such minor repairs as he/she is capable of and reports major repairs needed promptly to the principal.Reports immediately to the principal any damage to school property.Keeps an inventory of supplies, equipment on hand requisitions such needed replacements from the principal sufficiently in advance.Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair.Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities as directed by the principal.Works on general cleaning crews.Performs other custodial activities and such other duties as the custodial supervisor may require.Reading; ability to understand verbal instructions.Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders; work alone.Wage / Hour Status: Non ExemptRate of Pay: $12.00 / hourMinimum Work Days: As Needed
