Part Time Weekend Medical AssistantDowntown Family Health Center - Phoenix, AZ 85007OverviewPosition Type: Part TimeDescriptionShift is Friday-SundayEssential Responsibilities:Collaborates with the Nurse throughout each shift to determine work assignments and priorities, as well as communicating the status of delegated task completion and outcome of patient data findingsMaintains timely, ongoing verbal communication in order to assure good care of patients and the effective running of the clinicResponsible for collecting, collating and entering required data and information into the applicable database or format in an accurate and timely mannerTreats each patient in a manner that preserves and supports patient confidentiality, patient rights, and patient dignityChecks inventories on a weekly basis, orders and stocks suppliesAssists any patient with personal hygiene as neededAssures a clean, orderly, and functional work environmentEscorts patients to off-site appointments as assigned by supervisorFacilitates patient transportationAssists with copying, faxing and filing as neededPhone coverage and triage of calls when necessaryAbility and willingness to perform medical assistant duties at mobile clinic sitesPerforms additional duties as driver when assigned to mobile clinicPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsQualifications:Basic knowledge of medical terminologyCompletion of an approved Medical Assistant training courseAble to obtain vital signs accuratelyAbility to use personal computer for recording patient data /historyProficient in reading and writing skills in EnglishExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, challenging environmentDemonstrated interest in working with an underserved populationExperience:1 years of MA experience.High school diploma or GEDExperience in a medical environment highly desirableBi-lingual communicative skills preferredCPR/BLS certificationRequires a current Arizona state driver's licenseWe are an equal opportunity employer.
