Part-Time Yard WorkerLocation: Manchester, CT Pay: $18–$20 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM–6:00 PM Employment Type: Part-TimeCareer OpportunityBear Staffing is seeking a dependable and hardworking Part-Time Yard Worker for an opportunity with a growing provider of temporary fencing and related site-service solutions in Manchester, CT.This is an active, outdoor position supporting daily yard operations, order preparation, equipment handling, product inspection, and shipping and receiving. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, organized, comfortable performing physical work, and able to work effectively as part of a team.ResponsibilitiesLoad and unload fencing materials, equipment, and supplies from company trucks.Pick and prepare customer orders according to daily specification and load sheets.Inspect products before they leave the yard and when they are returned from customer locations.Complete minor repairs to fencing materials and related products as needed.Attach and remove windscreens from fence panels according to customer orders.Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including counting, documenting, and organizing materials.Safely operate forklifts and other yard equipment when trained and authorized.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard.Complete daily equipment inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns.Work with the Yard Manager and team members to maintain an efficient workflow.Assist with special projects and additional yard duties as assigned.Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures.QualificationsPrevious experience in a warehouse, distribution center, construction yard, fencing operation, or similar environment is preferred.Experience loading and unloading trucks is preferred.Familiarity with order picking, shipping, receiving, or inventory handling is helpful.Forklift experience or certification is strongly preferred.Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.Strong attention to detail when preparing and inspecting orders.Ability to follow written load sheets and verbal instructions.Dependable attendance and a team-focused attitude.Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions.Ability to perform repetitive physical work throughout the shift.Physical RequirementsCandidates must be able to:Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull heavy fencing materials and equipment.Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb throughout the shift.Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other changing weather conditions.Safely work around forklifts, trucks, equipment, and moving materials.Wear all required personal protective equipment.BenefitsHealth insuranceHealth Savings AccountDental insuranceVision insuranceFlexible Spending AccountsLife insuranceRetirement planBear Staffing is a drug-free workplace.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
