Job description
Build and scale data infrastructure for Andreessen Horowitz’s Global Partnerships, translating ambiguous needs into reliable systems and high-leverage automation.
Responsibilities
Own critical Global Partnerships systems, including core datasets and data pipelines, and act as a technical and strategic thought partner on data practices, automation, and scalable process design
Design and maintain scalable data infrastructure and reliable pipelines that connect Global Partnerships systems while reducing manual work and error rates
Maintain high standards of data precision by monitoring and rectifying discrepancies across platforms
Assess and implement tools and integrations to improve visibility, connectivity, and decision-making
Identify, pilot, and scale AI tools and agentic workflows to remove manual work, then drive adoption through training, documentation, and change management
Lead automation, process development, and operational scale to improve data accuracy, reliability, and speed
Serve as an AI thought partner by tracking emerging tools and translating them into concrete improvements for LP-facing and internal processes
Create visualizations and quantitative analyses covering fund and investment performance, including projected exit scenarios, liquidity, and follow-on decisions
Develop fluency with the firm’s portfolio company information database, including manipulating and analyzing system data to produce insights
Refine and calibrate portfolio performance analyses to keep them current and relevant
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience (data analytics or data engineering preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a technical field (preferred but not required)
Strong attention to detail, including the ability to review written prose and evaluate charts, tables, and spreadsheets, while staying current on changing data or facts across multiple documents
Strong written communication skills
Proven experience building and maintaining data workflows, automations, or integrations using Python , Javascript , or a comparable programming language
Experience leading ambiguous, cross-functional projects with substantial autonomy and influence across technical and business teams
Track record owning or administering complex data pipelines or other critical business systems, with focus on data completeness, governance, and integration
Low ego, high empathy, and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
Sense of urgency and professional responsiveness
Ability to adapt quickly to unforeseen developments without sacrificing attention to detail and quality
Preference for validating assumptions upfront to avoid oversights later
Enabling mindset focused on maximizing team leverage across tasks of any size
Reliability in delivery: follow through on commitments
Continuous improvement mindset and active search for new ideas
Comfort wearing multiple hats and acting as a trusted partner and emerging leader on data practices, systems, and efficiency

Role details
Location: San Francisco, CA (onsite)
Salary: USD 269,000 - 314,000 per year
Eligible for a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs, plus benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave
Open to candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area
Actual starting pay may vary based on experience, skills, and scope
