Parts PurchaserGeorge J. Igel & Co., Inc.Reports to: Assistant Parts ManagerFLSA Status: Non-exemptHours: 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (One (1) Hour Lunch), overtime may be required as neededJob Location: 2040 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, OH 43207 - This position is primarily in personGeneral Overview: The Parts Purchaser assists in ordering parts as needed. This person should consistently demonstrate Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership.Responsibilities:Receives stock into inventoryStores items by bin locationVerifies receipts to confirm accuracyFills orders from stock for mechanicsCollects order forms and fills orders for shop personnelSorts and tags cores and returns for creditAnswers phone as neededAssists in removing or rotating old stock in the Parts RoomAssists in maintaining will-call area and shop suppliesLinks all stock parts to equipment modelsResearches preventative maintenance protocols on all new equipment and vehicles, and sets up all parts for preventative maintenance in softwarePlaces parts orders with vendors, receipts parts from purchase orders into stock, and enters parts pulled onto proper work ordersMaintains and updates company software with specsEnters new parts into the inventory management system with all required information and adjusts inventories to keep accurate countsKnows and adheres to all Company policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned.This list is non-exhaustive. Job responsibilities may vary based on operational needs and the instructions of the employee's supervisor.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:The Parts Purchaser must be physically capable of performing tasks that require standing, walking, bending, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to be highly organized, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. The role involves working in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, and potentially hazardous fumes or chemicals. Knowledge of basic computer functions, knowledge of automotive equipment, and parts are preferred.Qualifications:One (1) or more years of experience in a Parts Purchasing or related role is preferredMust successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
