Pastry Sous Chef
/n
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Pastry Sous Chef to support the Executive Pastry Chef in leading daily pastry and bakery operations, ensuring the consistent production of high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and baked goods for resort restaurants, banquets, and food & beverage outlets.

Salary Range - $60,000-$65,000/yr
/n

Key Responsibilities
/n
/n
- Lead daily pastry operations and ensure high-quality, consistent production.
/n
- Train, coach, and support pastry team members.
/n
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, and production planning based on business needs.
/n
- Maintain quality, presentation, food safety, and sanitation standards.
/n
- Support inventory management, ordering, and cost control efforts.
/n
- Assist with menu development, recipe testing, and special event production.
/n
- Monitor labor and operational efficiency while supporting department goals.
/n
- Help create an engaging, positive, and collaborative team environment.
/n
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences through quality products and service.
/n
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and company standards.
/n

What We’re Looking For

- Experienced pastry professional with strong baking and dessert production skills.
/n
- Proven leader who can train, motivate, and develop teams.
/n
- Background in a high-volume hotel, resort, banquet, bakery, or restaurant environment.
/n
- Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about quality and presentation.
/n
- Strong communicator with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
/n
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
/n
- Knowledge of food safety, inventory management, and cost controls.
/n
- Team-focused professional committed to operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
/n
- Flexible and adaptable, including availability for weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
