nLabcorp is seeking a Surgical Pathologist/Cytopathologist to join our team in Birmingham, AL.
nWork Schedule: Generally (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)
nJob Responsibilities
nnnIndividual diagnostic evaluation and sign-out of surgical pathology and cytology cases, including a high volume of Gynecologic pathology specimens.
n
nnAssure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standards
n
nnAccurate and timely evaluation of specimens tested
n
nnAssures good laboratory practice (GLP) and compliance with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies
n
nnProvide expert consultation as needed with clients and staff, in person, by phone or electronically
n
n nMinimum Qualifications
nnnMedical Degree from an accredited college/university
n
nnAL & GA Licensed Physician
n
nnBoard Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
n
nnEligible to obtain LA, MS, TN & FL state medical licenses
n
n nAdditional Job Standards
nnnExperience in a high-volume hospital and/or large referral laboratory environment preferred
n
nnSubspecialty Board Certification in Cytopathology is highly desired
n
nnExperience in gynecologic pathology is highly desired
n
nnSubspecialty training in Surgical Pathology is highly desired
n
nnSubspecialty training or experience in ENT, Breast or Gastointestinal Pathology
n
nnOrganized and efficient problem-solving skills
n
nnExcellent written and verbal communication skills required
