Pathology Physician Opportunity – Nebraska

Why We’re Looking Adding a second full-time pathologist to form a two-physician pathology team Provides laboratory leadership and general pathology coverage across two hospitals Position Overview Specialty: Pathology Case Mix / Volume: Inpatient volumes slightly lower than outpatient Operational Expectation: Workflows structured to meet around-the-clock diagnostic turnaround times Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Laboratory Systems: APLIS (WSI platform) Services: In-house molecular pathology and advanced testing capabilities Clinical Collaboration: Close communication with surgeons and oncologists; participation in tumor boards Technology: Whole slide scanners and telepathology platforms Call: Shared pathology call rotation Reporting to: Dr. Wedel (Medical Director), Terri Brown (Director) Requirements Doctor of Medicine (MD or equivalent) Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) Eligible for Nebraska medical licensure (or active eligibility) Compensation & Incentives $400K+Production Productivity Bonus: Eligible based on performance Benefits Health Insurance (PPO or High-Deductible options) Single and Family Wellness program discounts available Dental, Vision, Short & Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance Retirement: 5% 401(k) with 4% employer match Malpractice insurance fully covered Standard clinical certifications included (ACLS, BLS, etc.) Time Off PTO accrual system CME: 10 days annually CME allowance: $5,000 per year Community – Central Nebraska Lifestyle Central Nebraska location with convenient access to both Hastings, Nebraska and Grand Island, Nebraska Affordable cost of living with strong housing value Safe, family-friendly communities with low commute times and a relaxed Midwest pace of life Strong public schools and a supportive education system Revitalized downtown districts featuring local dining, breweries, arts, and entertainment Grand Island offers expanded shopping, entertainment, and the Nebraska State Fair Year-round community events, festivals, and local gatherings Abundant outdoor recreation including lakes, trails, fishing, and hunting Easy access to broader regional amenities, shopping, and healthcare within a short drive Reference Number
