Job Description We are seeking a skilled Pathology-Cytopathology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Syracuse, New York. This role offers a consistent weekday schedule in a hospital setting, providing a strong work-life balance while working alongside an experienced and supportive pathology team. The position involves a mix of general anatomic pathology, cytology, and frozen section analysis in a well-equipped environment.

Case Volume: 15 surgical cases/day (3-5 large cases)
Monthly Volume Averages:Cases: 403
Blocks: 1,302
Slides (H&E): 2,509
Special Stains: 107
IHC: 573
Recuts: 351
Compensation: $2,300/day

Job Responsibilities Perform general anatomic pathology and cytopathology evaluations
Conduct frozen section analysis and cytology interpretation
Gross specimens and perform cryostat sectioning as needed
Collaborate with pathology assistants, histotechnologists, and cytotechnologists
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within EMR systems
Qualifications Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology (AP)
Cytopathology experience required
Active New York State medical license
Cytology Proficiency Exam required for GYN cytology
Self-Query NPDB report required
Working Hours Monday through Friday
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
No nights or weekends
Skills Strong expertise in cytopathology and general anatomic pathology
Ability to independently gross specimens and perform frozen sections
Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
