Locum Tenens Pathology Physician Jobs - Anatomic & Clinical Pathology in DuBois, PA Join a collaborative hospital-based pathology team as a locum tenens Pathology Physician in DuBois, Pennsylvania. This physician opportunity offers competitive weekly pay, adult patient care, and comprehensive anatomic and clinical pathology services within a 272-bed hospital. Work alongside pathology assistants, histotechnology professionals, and an experienced physician team in welcoming western Pennsylvania.
Locum Tenens Pathology Job Details Specialty: Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Practice Setting: Hospital-based pathology department Location: DuBois, Pennsylvania Start Date: November 16, 2026 Contract Duration: Approximately 13 weeks Coverage Schedule: November 16-22 and December 7-13, with additional coverage needs during the contract period Shift Duration: 12-hour coverage blocks, which may run from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,460-$5,850 Annual Volume: Approximately 18,000 surgical pathology cases and 4,000 cytology cases Patient Population: Adult patients Technology: Cerner EMR and Voicebrook dictation system Credentialing: Estimated 3-4 weeks after acceptance when documentation is completed promptly Selection Process: Virtual slide review with the medical director or pathology team may be required Pathology Physician Job Requirements MD or DO degree Board certification in Pathology; genuinely board-eligible physicians may be considered Required fellowship training At least 1 year of pathology experience required; 1-2 years preferred Active Pennsylvania physician license required; physicians eligible for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact may be considered Experience with Cerner EMR and electronic pathology documentation Demonstrated competency in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology Current CV with education and work history listed in month/year format Employment gaps of 30 days or more must be explained in the CV or candidate presentation Pathology Physician Responsibilities Provide diagnostic anatomic and clinical pathology services for an adult patient population Interpret surgical pathology, cytology, and related laboratory specimens Evaluate gastrointestinal, fluid, lymphoma, gynecologic, breast, and lung pathology cases Perform and interpret fine-needle aspiration procedures associated with radiology and endoscopy Perform frozen section evaluations Collaborate with pathology assistants who provide grossing support Work with histotechnology and pathology team members to ensure accurate, timely diagnoses Use in-house immunohistochemistry resources as part of the diagnostic evaluation Participate in scheduled coverage and call responsibilities as assigned Communicate effectively with medical staff and interdisciplinary hospital teams DuBois offers convenient access to outdoor recreation, scenic landscapes, and the broader Allegheny region.
