Job description
St. Joseph s Health in Syracuse, New York, is seeking a board-certified Anatomic Pathologist to provide locum tenens coverage in its hospital-based pathology laboratory.

Position Details Practice setting: Hospital-based pathology laboratory
Schedule: Weekday coverage with no call
Required procedures: Surgical pathology
Cytology
Frozen section analysis
Annual volume: Approximately 13,000 surgical pathology specimens
Approximately 3,000 cytology specimens
The physician will be responsible for grossing specimens.
The physician will cut their own frozen sections using the cryostat.
Other pathologists will be present during the assignment.
No supervision of other healthcare providers is required.

Laboratory and Technology EMR/documentation: Epic Beaker
Laboratory certifications: CLIA and New York State
Cytology preparation method: ThinPrep
Cytology equipment: Hologic ThinPrep Integrated Imager
Cryostats: Avantik QS12UV and Avantik QS II
Microscopes: Nikon Eclipse E400 and Olympus BX41
GYN cytology proficiency examination required
Facility designation: Level III Trauma Center
