Patient Access RepresentativeAn employer is looking for a Patient Access Rep in the Emergency Room setting. This individual will be cross trained on Patient Access activities for patients throughout the Medical Center for Inpatient, Outpatient, L&D, and/or Emergency Services. Patient Access Representatives facilitate a positive patient experience by managing tasks such as insurance verification, benefits determination, and financial clearance. They handle responsibilities across Patient Access, Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Financial Counseling, and more. Strong social skills are essential for effective communication with patients and clinical staff in a demanding healthcare environment. This will be on site with one weekend shift (every Saturday or every Sunday).Required Skills & Experience:2+ years experience in patient access registering patients2+ years experience with different insurance verifications and eligibility (IPA's, PPOs, HMO's, Medicare, etc)Experience with an EMR SoftwareHS DiplomaNice to Have Skills & Experience:Experience with EpicExperience in a hospital setting or urgent carePhysical Requirements:Comfortable working in an emergency department setting around patients and potentially seeing or being around bodily fluidsOn your feet, consistently walking and standing for long periods of time -Working in areas under constructionComfortable working at a desk, bedside, or on workstations on wheelsAvailable Shifts:Mid Shift (1): Start time anywhere between 12pm-6pm (8-hour shift)Overnight Shift (1): Start time between 6pm and 10pm (8-hour shift)5 days a week, everyone works one weekend day, with a set schedule either every sat or every SundayYou will receive your shift schedule at least a week in advance
