Job description

Patient Access RepresentativeOur meticulous and empathetic Patient Access Representative works in our Multi-Specialty facility to help provide patient care second to none! The Patient Access Representative thrives in a fast-paced, team oriented environment with professionals in neurology, pain management, chiropractic, physical therapy and many more. This position is cross-trained in all clinical administrative processes, therefore the Patient Access Representative will also answer phones, check in and out patients, perform patient reminder calls, and enter information into the EMR. The Patient Access Representative is required to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Top candidates for this role demonstrate superior customer service skills focusing on patient/customer satisfaction.Duties:Greets and interacts with patients in a friendly and polite mannerProvides solutions for customers; troubleshoots as neededPerform data entry through Electronic Medical Record systemMaintain medical records and patient confidentialityPerform insurance verification as needed and directedAnswer phone calls in a friendly and helpful mannerRegister patients and schedule appointments as directedAbility to multitask and move between responsibilities in fluid mannerAdheres to departments standards and PolicyStat policiesQualifications:Able to provide eligibility for employment for any U.S. employerHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field desired6 months of relevant customer service experience preferredPrevious experience performing insurance verification is a plusAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all timesDetailed oriented, conscientious and committed to precision in work resultsAbility to relate to and work effectively with a wonderfully diverse populaceExceptional phone and interpersonal skillsProficiency with computers, preferably strong typing and desktop navigational skillsAbility to multitask and move between responsibilities in fluid mannerAbility to independently problem solveGreat data entry skillsDemonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.Friendly, empathetic & respectfulReliable in work results, timeliness & attendanceAble to work in a fast-paced, and stressful environment while maintaining positive energyAble to work under pressure and in situations that benefit from patience, tact, stamina and enduranceCommitted to contributing to a positive environment, even in rapidly changing circumstances.Is aware of standards and performs in accordance with them.Physical Requirements:May be expected to lift up to 15 - 30 pounds with assistanceMay be expected to push or pull 30 - 100 pounds with assistanceWork is of medium demand; walking or standing most of the time while on dutyVisual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties requiredOptimal auditory acuity requiredManual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned dutiesPhysical conditions are clean, neat and well litMay be subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions needed to be taken is essentialExposure to limited amounts of radiation, hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibilityHours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to the requirements of the daily surgical and clinic scheduleOSHA Exposure Classification: Job Category III. Tasks/activities do not entail predictable or unpredictable exposure to blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply
