Patient Access Specialist - Part-TimeLocation: Rushville, IL Pay: $17.00 per hour Job Type: Part-TimeExpress Employment Professionals is hiring a Part-Time Patient Access Specialist in Rushville, IL. This is a great opportunity for a compassionate, detail-oriented individual with working knowledge of insurance who enjoys helping patients and working in a healthcare environment.As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be one of the first points of contact for patients. You will help ensure patients are checked in accurately, insurance information is verified, and visitors are directed to the appropriate department.Job Duties:Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional mannerCheck patients in and direct them to the appropriate departmentVerify insurance information and eligibilityAnswer incoming phone calls and assist with questions or direct calls appropriatelyEnter patient and insurance information accurately into the computer systemMaintain accurate patient registration and demographic informationProvide compassionate and respectful customer serviceFollow established procedures for patient registration and insurance verificationHandle changing priorities and varying workloads throughout the dayQualifications:Working knowledge of health insurance and insurance verificationPrevious healthcare, medical office, patient registration, receptionist, or customer service experience is helpfulStrong attention to detail and accuracyAccurate data entry and computer skillsKind, compassionate, and professional communication styleAbility to remain calm and focused in a high-stress environmentFlexible and able to "go with the flow" when priorities changeComfortable working independently when the department is slower and staying productive during busy periodsDependable and professionalThis position is part of a 24-hour department, so candidates should be comfortable with a healthcare environment where workload and patient volume can vary.
