Patient Care Assistant I

As our Patient Care Assistant, you'll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities. Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms. Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients' conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
Monitors and records vital signs
Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
Obtains and records daily weight
Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter
Required
High School Graduate, upon hire or
High School GED, upon hire and
Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
Preferred
Prior Experience, upon hire
St. Luke's Health - The Woodlands Hospital is a 245 bed facility serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. The hospital has been recognized as a Best Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, and is proud to serve as the clinical home for the Dan L Duncan Cancer Center. The hospital was awarded an "A" hospital safety grade by The Leapfrog Group in both 2023 and 2025. Clinical services provided include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women's services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level III nurseries), surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorder services.
