Job Summary and Responsibilities
nAs our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.
nEvery day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.
nYour success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
nnnProvides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff

nnMonitors and records vital signs

nnAssists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
n
nnAccurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
n
nnObtains and records daily weight
n
nnPerforms blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter
n
n nJob Requirements
nRequired
nnnHigh School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
n
nnHigh School GED General Studies, upon hire and
n
nngraduated from an accredited school of nursing or 1 year direct patient care experience , upon hire
n
nnBasic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

nSt. Luke’s Health - The Woodlands Hospital is a 245 bed facility serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. The hospital has been recognized as a Best Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, and is proud to serve as the clinical home for the Dan L Duncan Cancer Center. The hospital was awarded an “A” hospital safety grade by The Leapfrog Group in both 2023 and 2025. Clinical services provided include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level III nurseries), surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorder services.
nPay Range
n$19.49 - $27.52 /hour
