Associate Patient Care CoordinatorPride Health is hiring an Associate Patient Care Coordinator to support our client's medical facility in New York, NY 10016. This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance) and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!Specific DutiesThis position supports daily clinic operations and contributes to organizational success by providing excellent patient service, maintaining accurate records, coordinating appointments, and ensuring an efficient patient experience.Obtain and update patient demographic and insurance information.Verify insurance coverage on the date of service.Obtain patient signatures on required forms and documents.File, fax, scan, and maintain medical records.Schedule and confirm patient appointments.Answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls professionally and courteously.Follow Optum Medical payment security policies and procedures.Maintain work queues and complete pending actions, including referrals and appointment scheduling.Check patients in and out for appointments.Manage and monitor the front desk in-basket pool.Complete referral documentation accurately and promptly.Coordinate specialist appointments and follow-up services for patients.Adhere to Optum policies and standards outlined in Sparq.Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve departmental goals.Thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Support continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems.Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and healthcare team members.Follow administrative policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care.Scan, upload, and route documents to the appropriate electronic medical record.Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and OSHA requirements.Cross-train and provide coverage at other clinic locations as needed.Perform additional duties as assigned.RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare or customer service environment, with:Strong communication and interpersonal skillsOrganizational and multitasking abilitiesAttention to detailCustomer service experienceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficiency with scheduling systems and electronic medical records preferredWhat Skills/Attributes Are Nice To Have, And Will Set A Candidate Apart?Strong efficiency and time management skillsExcellent communication skillsProfessionalism and maturityDependability and accountabilityDemonstrated longevity and stability in previous rolesAdditional InformationLocation: New York, NY 10016Job Type: 3+ months contract to hireSchedule: M-F 8:30 am - 5 pmPay Range: $20-$25/hr. on W2PrideGlobal and its affiliates are an equal opportunity employer.
