Job description

Patient Care CoordinatorGreet patients as they arrive at and leave our clinic in a friendly and professional manner. The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for greeting and checking in patients, updating and verifying patient information, obtaining patient ID and insurance information, processing copayments, and registering patients in the billing system. This role helps maintain smooth communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff, handles scheduling inquiries, and provides additional administrative support as needed.ScheduleMonday–Thursday: 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.PRN as neededWhat You Will Be DoingGreet and check in patients in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.Accurately enter, update, and verify patient demographics and insurance information while working with multiple medical computer programs.Complete the patient registration process by reviewing accounts and compliance-related documents for completeness and accuracy. Obtain and document any missing information required for registration.Prepare paperwork and documentation for patient visits.Verify patient benefits and eligibility as needed.Collect required copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.Respond to questions regarding account status, payment arrangements, and billing concerns.Resolve billing or charge disputes or forward problem accounts to the appropriate individual for resolution.Monitor patient flow, adjust workflows as needed, and communicate pertinent information or changes to clinical staff.Act as a liaison between patients, guests, back-office staff, and providers.Reconcile cash against daily charge and cash reports.Schedule and confirm patient appointments as needed.Create, distribute, and file new patient charts and medical records.Perform clerical tasks such as copying, sorting, scanning, and faxing.Properly check out patients, including collecting appropriate copayments, past-due balances, and fees; ensuring forms are completed; and updating medical records as needed.Keep the front desk and waiting room clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.Follow all organizational policies and procedures, including standard operating procedures and the employee handbook.Perform other duties as assigned.What You KnowRequiredHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.Strong verbal and written communication skills.DesiredTelephone operator or high-volume call experience.Previous healthcare or medical office experience is a plus.Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.What You Will ReceiveCompetitive wages.Robust benefits package, including medical, dental, life, and short- and long-term disability insurance.Generous paid time off (PTO) program.Seven company-paid holidays.401(k) retirement plan with company match.An organization focused on People, Passion, Purpose, and Progress.An inspirational culture.About Midwest Vision PartnersMidwest Vision Partners was founded in 2019 to build a premier eye care platform in partnership with Alpine Investors, a San Francisco-based private equity firm.
