nThe G110 Bone Marrow Transplant Unit is dedicated to the care of patients undergoing a bone marrow transplant for a diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other cancers. The highly skilled G110 caregivers assist with giving patients high dose chemotherapy followed by autologous, allogeneic, umbilical cord or nonmyeloablative transplant. This unit also provides treatment of graft versus host disease and symptom management for chronic patients.
nA caregiver in this position works night shifts, from 7:00pm-7:30am.
nA caregiver who excels in this role will:
nnnProvide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.

nnReport abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
n
nnAssist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.
n
n nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
nnnHigh School Diploma or GED
n
nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (before or during new hire period)
n
nnMilitary experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered
n
n nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
nnState Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)
n nPhysical Requirements:
nnnRequires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
n
nnMedium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
n
nnPhysical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
n
n nPersonal Protective Equipment:
nnFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
n nPay Range
nMinimum hourly: $18.25
nMaximum hourly: $24.95
nThe pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
