nDescription:
nWe are recruiting a pharmacist to serve as shared overnight coverage for the emergency department and hospital wide emergency response, in addition to operations and clinical workflows within the inpatient pharmacy. Ideal candidates will be seeking a fast-paced environment and ability to manage critical situations. PGY1 residency or 3 years of hospital practice preferred but not required. This will be a 7 nights on and 7 nights off position.

nPosition Purpose
nThe Patient Care Pharmacist , within the scope of the Ohio Pharmacist Practice Act, will provide timely, accurate, cost effective, and patient-centric pharmaceutical care.
nWhat you will do:
nnnCoordinates the preparation, distribution, and dispensing of medication as appropriate in compliance with state and federal regulations and laws, accreditation standards, and departmental policies and procedures; directs and assists pharmacy support staff.
n
nnMaintains personal compliance and assists in maintenance of departmental compliance with continuous regulatory readiness. Also maintains records related to the transactions of the pharmacy, to achieve adequate control and accountability for all drugs, including controlled substances.
n
nnAssists in the management of pharmacy inventory by providing information to pharmacy purchasing, removing expired contaminated or deteriorated stock when detected, helping maintain perpetual inventories, and processing non-formulary requests.
n
nnInterprets, evaluates and verifies all medication orders.
n
nnCollaborates with multidisciplinary team in order to assure optimal and cost effective drug therapy. This includes adjusting drug dosing and schedules, recommending the most efficacious therapy, practicing stewardship in antibiotics, performing drug consults and monitoring, and detecting possible adverse drug reactions, food/drug interactions, drug/drug interactions, and allergic cross reactivity.

n nMinimum Qualifications:
nnnEducation: Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy required
n
nnLicensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
n
nnExperience: PGY1 residency or three years of institutional pharmacy experience in an advanced clinical setting is preferred
n
nnEffective Communication Skills

nnDemonstrates the ability to plan, organize and manage pharmaceutical care, including delegating tasks to and providing direction to other members of the pharmacy team
n
nnPerforms work independently with minimum supervision, and is effective in a stressful environment
