Emergency Department Patient Care TechWe are looking for individuals who like a quickly changing work environment, which involves critical thinking. Cline Emergency Unit is a 22-bed, Level 3 designated Trauma Center. We care for a patient population that includes all ages. Our staff is a well-oiled machine that is quick to respond to any emergency. We are part of the Arkansas SAVES family for excellence in stroke care. Several of our nurses recently became SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) certified. Our team is a vital part of our cardiovascular program and work very closely with the physicians as they are on the unit 24/7. Come see where your career can go!This position is filled by a patient care technician who, as a result of educational and clinical experience, possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide direct patient care. Ensures quality focused and cost-effective care delivery outcomes; functions within a collaborative practice to enhance quality of care; and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Responsible and accountable for basic patient care, timely notification to appropriate staff on completion of patient care and for patient status changes on the assigned shift under the direction of a licensed nurse. Responsible for adhering to all standards of patient care and promoting a team effort among co-workers. Responsible and accountable to know, own, and energize the mission, values and standards of the hospital.Job Requirements: Education: High School diploma or equivalent or minimum score of Bronze on the Career Readiness Certificate. Experience: No experience required. Applicants with no experience will be required to complete a residency program. Certification: Current Arkansas nursing assistant certification or EMT certification preferred; BLS require. Other: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required. Safety Sensitive Designation: This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana. Physical Demands: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist up to or exceeding 8-12 hours. Occasionally requires lifting of 50 pounds or more of equipment, able to push in excess of 150 pound wheelchair with patient and equipment, and occasionally lifts patients with assist 125 pounds or more using proper body mechanics. Spends eight hours or more in front of computer, monitor or similar screen utilizing keyboard and/or mouse. Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations such as CPR and obtaining equipment. Must be able to handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Has a keen sense of hearing and keen visual acuity to respond to critical changing patient situations from actual observations and/or equipment alarms. May be subject to inside environmental conditions, hazards (including electrical currents and exposure to high heat and chemicals) and infectious diseases. May have to function around prisoners or those in behavioral health crisis.
