Job description
Patient Care Technician IIThe Patient Care Technician II works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate personal care, comfort, and safety for patients. The Patient Care Technician II works within their scope of practice and is assigned tasks that are reasonably predictable, do not require assessment, interpretation or independent decision-making during its performance, or do not pose any risk to the patient. The Patient Care Technician II is attentive not only to the needs of patients but also to the needs of the family accompanying the patient. The Patient Care Technician II collaborates with all members of the health care team to provide care. The Patient Care Technician II is cross-trained to assume Unit Secretary functions.Minimum Qualifications:Current licensure to practice as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Rhode IslandAbility to understand and perform instructions and proceduresPrevious Nursing Assistant experience with positive evaluation from Manager preferredExcellent interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, and ability to work as a team member with close attention to organizational skillsCurrent BLS certification for health providers meeting the American Heart Association criteriaPrevious Unit Secretary experience preferred or cross-trained to perform additional duties. High school graduate or equivalentPay range: $20.25- $25.50 per hour
