These recognitions highlight LVHN's commitment to teamwork, compassion, and technology with an unrelenting focus on delivering the best health care possible every day.Whether you're considering your next career move or your first, you should consider Lehigh Valley Health Network.Patient Care Technician (PCT) Job DutiesCommunicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.Performs validated and designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under direction of licensed clinical team members.Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations.Conducts patient rounds as assigned, anticipates patient needs, and answers/responds to patient call light or pages promptly.May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs.May be required, to facilitate, under the direction of the distant provider, a clinical exam including the utilization of any required peripheral devices (e.g. electronic stethescope), other technology (e.g. video conferencing equipment) and software (e.g. Epic, Vidyo, etc) ensuring a comprehensive virtual care encounter is conducted.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GEDKnowledge of medical terminology, patient care needs and their role in interprofessional team.Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.Knowledge of personal care and hygiene necessary for quality of life, and ability to apply this knowledge to patients in need on a daily basis.Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks.Knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with each patient, family and/or designated care partner in care.Knowledge of people with diverse backgrounds and the ability to convey respect and connect effectively.Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques, ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
