Job description
Patient Care TechnicianThe Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs patient care tasks and duties which do not require a license. The PCT is a trained member of the unit-based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary patient management team in the combined Transitional Care (A7) and Short Stay (A4) units. A7/A4 is composed of 27 adult medical surgical beds collectively. The 14 bed Transitional Care Unit (A7) will provide care to patients who are deemed ready for acute care discharge from UAMS by their physician and have experienced a delay in discharge. The 13 bed Short Stay Unit on (A4) will provide care to medical-surgical patients that meet specific criteria for stability, and are anticipated to discharge within 48 hours.The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that encourages and supports teamwork and diversity.
