Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. What you will doTransports inpatients and outpatients safely between hospital departments, using stretcher, wheelchair, bed, and stroke chair as appropriate.Utilizes patient safety criteria and correct patient handoff processes.Ensures that patient is comfortable during the transporting process.Provides assistance to patient, family and health care staff as needed.Places equipment not in use in assigned location and ensures equipment is clean and in proper working order.Performs other job functions.Education/Formal Training RequirementsRequired - No Education Required No Education RequiredWork Experience RequirementsPreferred - No prior work experienceKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to communicate verbally with others.Ability to maintain working relationships with co-workersAbility to organize and complete tasks.Ability to read and follow simple written instructions.Supervision Provided by this PositionThere are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.Physical DemandsThe physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.Must have good balance and coordination.The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.Frequent non-invasive patient contact.Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.Periodic exposure to excessive heat and cold throughout shift; Occasional work to be performed outdoors when discharging patients.Our Associates are passionate about what they do, the service they provide and the patients they serve.
