Job description
Patient EscortPatient Escorts are part of Patient Access Services and are responsible for providing information, directions, and physical assistance to customers. Duties include but are not limited to escorting patients to designated locations, notifying the department of the patients' arrival, and when requested, signing the patient in on the departmental log. Patient Escorts also provide training to assigned volunteers in all aspects of patient escorting duties. Other job duties as assigned by leadership.Minimum RequirementsEducation• High School Diploma or GEDExperience• Three to six months in a medical and/or customer service setting• Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in EnglishLicense/Registration/Certifications• N/APreferred RequirementsPreferred Education• High School Diploma or GEDPreferred Experience• Six months to one year in a medical and/or customer service setting• Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in EnglishPreferred License/Registration/Certifications• N/ACore Job Responsibilities• Possess excellent customer service skills• Function effectively in stressful and demanding conditions• Demonstrate impeccable interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills• Escorts patients to designated areas in a punctual and timely manner• Respects and protects patient confidence and hospital confidentiality by keeping all sensitive and patient information private• Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members• Educate assigned volunteers on all Patient Escort responsibilities• Serve as a liaison between Patient Access and receiving modality• Other duties as assigned
