About the Role
nThe EN Payment Technician is responsible for processing Employment Network (EN) payments under the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work Program. This role supports the accurate, timely, and efficient processing of EN payment requests and provides critical guidance to ENs regarding payment policies, requirements, and procedures. The EN Payment Technician works closely with the Senior Payment Specialist to ensure contract deliverables are consistently met and that ENs receive high‑quality support with professionalism, precision, and a strong sense of urgency.

nKey Responsibilities
nnnRespond to EN payment inquiries, including payment status questions, policy clarifications, and procedural assistance.
n
nnEvaluate and review reimbursement and cost requests from ENs and State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies (SVRAs) to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient compensation.
n
nnAssist SSA in the creation and execution of automated payments using the iTOPSS system.
n
nnEnsure all payment processing activities meet established performance requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
n
nnProvide ENs with timely updates to support compliance with required timelines and documentation standards.
n
nnInform ENs of additional available services or actions that may improve program outcomes.
n
nnPrepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing payment activity and performance metrics.
n
nnMaintain quality service by establishing, following, and reinforcing organizational standards.
n
nnMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training, reviewing industry publications, networking, and participating in professional associations.
n
nnSupport team operations during periods of increased payment volume, consistent with processing demands documented in EN and VR payment workloads (e.g., submissions and pending claim trends referenced in VR cases processed)
n
nnHandle data entry and analysis.
n
nnStay updated on industry trends and competitor actions affecting payments.
n
n nRequired Qualifications
nnnHigh School diploma required.
n
nnBachelor’s degree (BS or BA) preferred.
n
nnData entry experience.
n
n nPreferred Qualifications
nnnExperience working with SSA’s Ticket to Work Program.
n
nnExperience or familiarity with multi‑task operational
n
nnAbility to work independently and manage multiple cases under tight deadlines.
n
nnStrong and effective communication skills
n
nnOutstanding writing and editing skills
n
nnAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions
n
nnExcellent organization skills
n
nnAbility to work in a fast-paced environment independently and meet aggressive deadlines
n
nnProficient in the use of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

nnAble to switch between multiple systems with ease.

nnComplete ongoing program training requirements as required

n nCompensation Ranges
nCompensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
