Job description

Opportunity to shape the future of payments and commerce by driving transformational partnerships and investments

As a Vice President in Corporate Development and Partnerships, you will identify and execute strategic partnerships—and, where applicable, investment opportunities—that accelerate product innovation and commercial growth across our global payments and commerce capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of client needs, product strategy, and external ecosystem development, working closely with Product, Sales, Technology, Legal, Risk, and Investments.

Job responsibilities:

Source and evaluate partnership opportunities that differentiate J.P. Morgan Payments and drive measurable client and business outcomes.

Build strategic business cases including value proposition, target clients/use cases, competitive landscape, economics, and execution roadmap.

Lead partner engagement end-to-end, including outreach, qualification, negotiation of commercial terms, and internal alignment through approvals.

Drive commercialization and go-to-market, coordinating with Sales and Marketing on positioning, enablement, pipeline creation, and client adoption.

Coordinate cross-functional execution across Product, Sales, Technology, Legal, Compliance/Risk, Operations, and Investments to deliver launches on schedule.

Conduct diligence for investment and partnership decisions, assessing strategic fit, product/technology, financials, risks, and integration considerations.

Develop and maintain ecosystem relationships with fintechs, venture capital, incubators, and industry forums to keep a strong pipeline of opportunities.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

7+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, strategy, product partnerships, and/or payments/fintech-related roles.

Demonstrated ability to synthesize market, client, and product signals into clear recommendations and actionable partnership strategies.

Strong structured communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to influence stakeholders from working teams through senior leadership.

Proven negotiation and deal execution capability, including commercial structuring and stakeholder alignment.

Strong program and stakeholder management skills, effectively driving multiple concurrent workstreams to outcomes.

A collaborative, ownership‑oriented approach, with comfort operating in ambiguity and translating strategy into execution.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

Experience building and commercializing payments and/or commerce solutions through external partners.

Strong understanding of enterprise payments needs (e.g., pay‑ins, pay‑outs, treasury flows, acceptance, ERP integrations, reconciliation).

Background in product partnerships, corporate development, strategy, or fintech business development, including operating within complex, regulated environments.

Experience within investment evaluation (strategic or financial), including diligence and investment committee materials.

Exposure to international payments markets and cross‑border partnership execution; familiarity with emerging technologies and human‑centered/design‑led product discovery approaches.
