This is a hybrid position that requires working at the office three days per week and working from home two days per week.The Payroll Administrator II is responsible for maintaining accurate employee master data across multiple payroll and HR systems, including JD Edwards (JDE) and Dayforce. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, prevailing wage requirements, union agreements, company policies, and internal controls. The position supports payroll operations through timely and accurate data entry, wage and deduction maintenance, process documentation, customer support, and collaboration with Human Resources and payroll team members. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to manage high transaction volumes under strict deadlines, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.Essential FunctionsReview all requests to update employee master data for accuracy. Communicate any form completion deficiencies to and provide training on form completion to Human Resources staff.Complete entry of employee master data in JD Edwards (JDE) and Dayforce in accordance with the Payroll Processing calendar.Distribute reviewed and/or entered requests to update employee master data or requests for other payroll related processing to the appropriate payroll team member in a timely manner.Complete entry of assigned employee deduction, benefit, and accrual instructions excluding one-time overrides. Some examples include auto allowance benefits, voluntary donation deductions, and cell phone equipment reimbursement deductions.Maintain My Records user information and transmit new user files each Wednesday.Maintain prevailing wage rates within JDE.Maintain union wage, benefit, and deduction rates within JDE.Write all documentation for payroll administrator processes maintaining necessary updates.Provide support, consultation, and research for customers. Manage the support email box.Respond to all requests for information within four (4) business days of receipt. If a request cannot be completed within four (4) business days, work with the customer to determine a mutually acceptable date for report completion.Provide excellent customer service.Promote Customer RelationsBuilds effective relationships with project teams, functional departments, customers, vendors, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.Actively participates in industry, client, and community relations to enhance company image.Culture, Leadership and Employee DevelopmentServes as a role model and promotes professional behavior.Participates in personal career development through training, participates in software training and seminars as applicable for this position.Embrace key BB-wide initiatives, like Zero Harm, Sustainability, and core Values, and does one's part to demonstrate relentless behaviors and embeds them into our culture.Performs other related duties as assigned.Working ConditionsMajority of work is completed in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. Periodic travel required. This is a hybrid position that requires working three days in the office per week and working two days at home per week.Education, Experience and KnowledgeHigh School Diploma or equivalentA minimum of three (3) years of payroll and/or human resources experience including entry of payroll/employee master data; union and prevailing wage payroll experience a plusSolid knowledge of payroll related work processes and best practicesStrong computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet software. Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC), company communication tools (e.g. email, internet), and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)Dayforce experience preferredJD Edwards experience a plusAbility to meet strict daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent multi-tasking capabilities while maintaining organization and meticulous attention to detailAbility to maintain strict confidentialityExcellent customer service skillsBalfour Beatty is an equal opportunity employer that recognizes the value of a diverse workforce.
