Payroll AnalystLocation: Los Angeles, CAPay Range: $40 - $45hr on W2 (All Inclusive)Duration: 06+ Months ContractSchedule: OnsiteExcel Test - to be conducted during the 2nd round IN PERSON interview with the managers. This will be a timed test with pivot tables, formulas and other skills testing requirements.Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees within a large company, multi-state, union environment. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of internal processes, compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations as well as company policies, and the ability to handle complex issues. The successful candidate will also have basic knowledge of payroll accounting, wage and hour laws, and SOX compliance.Responsibilities Include:End-to-end processing of multi-frequency union and non-union payrollsAudit and reconciliation of HR and payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracyEnsure data is compliant with federal, state and local tax regulations including multistate taxation rulesReconcile payroll integration and bank filesProvide timely and compliant response and set up of employee garnishmentsProvide ad hoc reports to internal customers as requiredRespond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, providing timely and accurate information and resolving discrepanciesKeep abreast of payroll related regulationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with business partners including Human Resources and ITProvide testing support for system upgrades and periodic tax updatesSpecial projects as assignedRequirements – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:3+ years of payroll experience in a large company settingExperience with SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or other major HCM system preferredStrong attention to detail and a high level of accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Office suite with intermediate level Excel skillsDemonstrated understanding of the relationship between HR policies/programs and payrollAbility to maintain strict confidentialityStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize competing demands and work well under pressureAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProactive with excellent customer service skillsNice to Have:Experience with SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) or other major HCM system preferred. If they have knowledge in SAP ECP, it's heavily preferred, as it's possible that team members may need to operate with agility to move to different SAP related project work.End-to-end processing of multi-frequency union is a nice to have, any experience with union payroll is highly preferred, but not required.
