Payroll Specialist
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $80,000 to $95,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities
Process full cycle payroll activities while ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
Maintain payroll records, review employee data changes, and verify wage, deduction, and tax information.
Reconcile payroll reports, investigate discrepancies, and resolve payroll related issues in a timely manner.
Prepare payroll reports and support year end processing, audits, and compliance related activities.
Provide payroll support to employees and management while ensuring a high level of customer service and confidentiality.
Requirements
3+ years of payroll experience with responsibility for end to end payroll processing.
Strong knowledge of union payroll administration, prevailing wage requirements, and payroll compliance regulations.
Previous experience managing high volume payroll activities while meeting strict processing deadlines.
Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel for reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis.
Ability to interpret payroll regulations, employee agreements, and payroll related documentation.
Qualifications
Construction, contracting, or project based industry payroll experience.
Prior experience with certified payroll reporting, union benefit calculations, and multi union payroll environments.
Payroll certification is a plus.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Self motivated professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with complex payroll requirements.
