Payroll SpecialistThis position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate payroll processing and providing financial and administrative support across departments.Position SummaryThe Payroll Specialist performs a variety of administrative, clerical, and technical tasks related to payroll and finance. This role works closely with Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center departments as well as County Finance and Payroll to process payroll, payment vouchers, and financial records accurately and efficiently.Examples of DutiesProcess and coordinate payroll activities, including monitoring changes in payroll and timekeeping systemsProvide backup support to the Director of Finance for payroll processing, including data input and importsAssist with payroll proofing and take corrective action to resolve errorsAudit, prepare, and process payment vouchers from all departmentsRun payroll and financial reports and ensure accuracy of recordsProvide administrative, clerical, and technical support to the Business OfficeAssist with budget preparation through data entry, report generation, and financial correspondenceScan and maintain financial documents for journal entries, contracts, and monthly reportsOrder and maintain office suppliesAssist with accounts payable and receivable processing and review for accuracyEffectively obtain and verify all payroll-related informationProvide support, guidance, and answers to payroll-related questionsCommunicate professionally and collaborate with internal departments and County staffTypical QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Accounting4 years of experience working in a financial officeStrong attention to detail and accuracyEffective communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to handle confidential financial and payroll informationFull-time Benefits We offer a complete benefits package to full-time employees including:Health insurance (pro-rated if working 30-39 hours weekly)Dental (pro-rated if working 30-39 hours weekly)Vision insurance (pro-rated if working 30-39 hours weekly)Wisconsin RetirementDeferred compensation plansFlexible spending accountsLife insuranceLong-term disability & short-term disabilityHolidaysVacationPart-Time benefits:Wisconsin Retirement if working more than 24 hours weeklyFor more information on benefits please refer to our website.
