With a robust network in the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and the commercial services industry nationwide, we've earned a reputation for excellence.Position OverviewWe are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will assist the Payroll Manager in managing and processing bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll for 1200+ employees for a workforce that is multi-state, multiple organizations. Ensures payroll is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with all Federal & State and local tax laws, company policies and collective bargaining agreements. Lastly, this payroll superstar must have excellent customer service and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, be team oriented and be flexible to thrive in our fast-paced, growing environment.DutiesUtilize Paylocity's payroll and time and labor systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of all payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions for multiple company profilesMaintain accurate payroll records related to garnishments, tax levies and bankruptcy casesReconciles and transmits payment of union dues, union health & welfare, and union pension to corresponding union locals, as requiredConducts Data & Retro pay analysis.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and contract requirementsApply working knowledge of IRS, DOL FLSA, SCA Compensation and fringe benefit programs to ensure adherence and compliance.Review and validate payroll reports for accuracy, investigating and resolving any discrepanciesPerform regular reviews/audits to confirm accurate employee records, including personal information, payroll codes, tax withholdings, direct deposit details, taxable benefits, and other relevant data.Ensures all employees are assigned to the correct payroll policiesReviews, edits, and approves timesheetsAssists with timeclock issues.Provides excellent customer service in working with managers / employees to proactively resolve potential pay, timekeeping issues and/ or timecard discrepanciesRespond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolve discrepancies consistent with company policies and payroll regulations.Work closely with HR to assist in processing new hires, terminations, wage updates, and status changes.Completes all requested wage reports (VOE, Unemployment, Work Compensation wages etc.).We Support Your SuccessWe believe in providing our employees with everything they need to succeed, including:Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending account)Salary Range: 60,000-70,000 DOE401(k) retirement planVoluntary supplemental life and disability plans11 paid holidaysGenerous PTORequirementsEducation & Experience4+ years experience processing full-cycle payrollAssociate's degree in relevant fieldExperience processing bi-weekly payrolls with more than 1000 employeesExperience working with Collective Bargaining AgreementsPrior experience with Paylocity Web Pay, and Time and Labor desired.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequirementsKnowledge of federal and state laws (IRS, DOL FLSA, SCA)Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretionExcellent problem-solving skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracyMust be proficient in Excel, with pivot tables, VLOOKUP's and spreadsheet creationExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentCustomer service oriented & Team player.HBC is an equal opportunity employer.
