Payroll SpecialistLocation: Minneapolis, MN (On-site) Salary: $70,000 – $85,000Pathway Talent Partners is partnering with a respected construction firm to hire a Payroll Specialist. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing for a diverse employee base.About the Opportunity As a Payroll Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing weekly payroll processes for both union and non-union staff. You'll ensure that payroll is processed accurately and efficiently, handle related reporting and deductions, and help maintain up-to-date employee payroll records. You'll collaborate with HR, accounting, and field teams to support payroll integrity and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess weekly payroll for field and office employees, verifying hours and applying appropriate deductionsMaintain payroll records, including direct deposit details, tax withholdings, pay rate changes, and terminationsReconcile discrepancies in timecards, earnings, or benefits deductionsGenerate certified payroll and union benefit reports, and ensure timely remittanceFile payroll taxes at the federal and state level in compliance with regulatory deadlinesAssist with onboarding by setting up new employees in the payroll system and verifying required dataRespond to employment verification requests and assist with unemployment claimsCreate payroll-related reports as needed for internal and client-facing useWhat You Bring1–3 years of payroll experience; exposure to union payroll is a strong plusFamiliarity with payroll systems and solid knowledge of wage/tax regulationsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis skillsStrong attention to detail, time management, and confidentialityExcellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindsetAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, or related field preferred
