JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Payroll Specialist in Huntsville, AL . Our client is a leading healthcare organization. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing payroll, maintaining employee payroll records, resolving payroll-related issues, and ensuring payroll is processed in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities of a Payroll Specialist include:
Process biweekly or weekly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
Review and verify employee timekeeping, attendance, and payroll information.
Enter and maintain payroll data, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, and adjustments.
Review payroll reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related matters.
Maintain accurate and confidential payroll and employee records.
Process payroll adjustments, corrections, garnishments, deductions, and other payroll transactions as needed.
Assist with payroll audits and provide reports or documentation as requested.
Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Work closely with Human Resources and other departments to ensure accurate employee and payroll information.
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation.
Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
Perform other payroll and administrative duties as assigned.
Job Requirements of a Payroll Specialist:
REQUIRED Experience and Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Previous payroll experience required.
Experience with payroll processing, timekeeping systems, and payroll-related reporting.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner.
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with HR, management, and other departments.
Healthcare or large-organization payroll experience is a plus.
